Read the rules that matter most 2 minutes

Your readers are hurting after a breakup or divorce, so the rules here are mostly about being kind and honest:

  • Never promise or hint that the book will get someone their ex back. It is about getting over a breakup and being happy again.
  • No bidding on "Survival After Separation" or using the name in Google or Bing ads, and talk to Andrew before any Google or Bing campaign.
  • No spam, no fake reviews or results, no income claims, and no ads that point at the viewer's own situation ("Divorced?").
  • Always say you may earn a commission, close to your link.

Send it, then follow up about a minute

Copy the piece, write the line in [brackets] in your own words, and send or post it. Most people need to hear about something more than once, so send the next email in the same sequence two or three days later, and keep going until the sequence ends.

Once sales come in, ask Andrew about the 90% commission boost.

Your first week with an email list

A simple plan using the ready-made sequences. Every email is on the Email Swipes page.

  1. 1
Day 1: "The advice everyone gives"

The first Cold-List Introduction email. Calm and useful, no hard sell, one link to Penny's video.

  2. 2
Day 3: "Why it hurts this much"

Explains that the pain of a breakup is real, mental, emotional and even chemical. Readers who felt foolish for hurting this much often click here.

  3. 3
Day 6: "The good day, then the bad day"

The emotional rollercoaster, and why a bad day doesn't mean going backwards.

  4. 4
    Day 8 or 9: "What's actually inside"

From the Offer and Guarantee sequence: the plain version of what the book covers, the two bonuses, the US$37 price and the 60-day guarantee.

  5. 5
About a week later: "In case it got buried"

A soft Re-engagement email for anyone who didn't click.

Around Valentine's Day, the holidays and New Year, the Seasonal One-Offs give you a timely reason to write. Being on your own hurts most at those times of year.

Short notes for each channel

One tip and one thing to avoid for the places affiliates usually promote this offer.

Email list

Best tool: Email Swipes. Send a whole sequence rather than a single email, and write the [bracketed] line yourself: one true sentence from you does more than any subject line.

Avoid: mailing anyone who did not ask to hear from you. Only send to your own opted-in subscribers.

Facebook, Instagram and TikTok

Best tools: Social & Ads for the words, Social Media Images for the pictures, and Hooks & Angles for first lines. Lead with a feeling your reader knows, like the 2 a.m. replay or the text they keep drafting.

Avoid: lines that single out the viewer ("Your ex left you?"). Speak in general terms, and put #ad where people see it first.

Blog or website

Best tools: Articles and the three presell pages (each with HTML and WordPress downloads). Add your own experience to the article so it reads as yours.

Avoid: publishing the articles unchanged on a thin site. Search engines and the rules both ask for original, useful content.

YouTube and Pinterest

Best tools: the YouTube and Pinterest sections of Social & Ads, and the vertical and square pictures on Social Media Images. Put your hoplink in the description and say out loud that you are an affiliate.

Avoid: saying or implying you have used the book if you have not.

Paid ads (Google, Bing and native)

Best tools: Keywords, then your own presell page. Contact Andrew before you start a Google or Bing campaign: your site needs a review first, and he can help with tips while he looks.

Avoid: bidding on the brand name, using it in your ad copy, or pointing ads straight at a hoplink or a Survival After Separation page.
